   Monkhill Chapel newsletter 12th December 2020    12 December, 2020
Good evening everyone,
Hope you're all keeping well.

Tomorrow is the third Sunday of Advent and remember it's the Community Christmas Service at Beaumont at 11am preceded by coffee and mince pies at The Drovers at 10am. It'll be great to get-together but be apart (if you understand what I mean!)

Next Sunday (fourth and last Sunday before Christrmas is Cumbria's Big Carol Sing in conjunction with local Radio - Radio Cumbria. I gave some details of this in the newsletter a couple of weeks ago.
The Stewards have decided, in the absence of both a service at Chapel next Sunday and the Annual Carols in the Pub that is not possible this year, that we should try to participate in The Big Carol Sing in Monkhill. We are therefore giving out invitations to every household in Monkhill to take part. They will be given details of the event and why it is happening and invited to make their way down to Monkhill Crossroads at 6.00pm to sing some carols and particulary Silent Night which is to be broadcast on Radio Cumbria at 6.15pm (we will be able to use our music player in the porch but stand outside).
It is important to say that households should each be socially distanced. Every house is to be given a led tea-light to bring with them. There is a street light at the crossroads and also an outside light at the Chapel so it shouldn't be too dark, but dry we hope?! Those living nearby can stand in their gardens if they wish or households may prefer to listen on Radio Cumbria and we suggest they put the candle in their windows instead. We are asked to make a joyful noise to the Lord so come with your best singing voices. We hope it will be well supported by Chapel folk and the residents of Monkhill.

Well, that's all this week's news.
See you tomorrow,
Lynne
