Monkhill Chapel News Saturday 25th July    25 July, 2020
Hello all,
Hope you are well.

Have you worn a mask yet for shopping; some of you may have been wearing one already. I wore one when shopping this week as a "trial run" just prior to it being mandatory. It was OK but it must have distracted me as I forgot some of my shopping even though it was on my list! Here's to better management next time!

Cockermouth Methodist Church were photographed in the News and Star today. Church members in their Knit and natter group have been creating hundreds of knitted hearts to be distributed around the town with thoughtful messages or quotes from scripture. Other members have sewn hearts or made them from wood. The Church railings have been adorned with hearts, bunting and messages which people are invited to take home. It is hoped that a heart with a message of love and friendship will act as a blessing for people and let them know they are being thought of, especially those feeling isolated, anxious or worried at this time. Some hearts have gone to older, isolated Church members and also to the local food bank to be included in food parcels and to pre-schools and local nursing/residential homes.
What a lovely gesture!

Remember that the Circuit Service tomorrow at 10.30am on Zoom, Facebook or by Phone is the Farewell Service for Deacons Mel and Sarah. Please join in live if you can or listen to it later at your convenience.

That's all for this week so until next time, stay safe and well.

God bless,
Lynne
